Homecooked meals vs. Takeout meals

If you like me, I crave takeout at least once a week especially in the weekends. With apps that allow you to order with just a few taps, it can be extremely tempting to forgo cooking dinner. But there are often trade-offs for convenience.

Restaurant meals can contain lots of unhealthy ingredients. There’s also a lot beyond what’s in the meal that you miss out on when you’re eating from a take-out box.

I know some recipes can take a few steps but eating healthy is important to me and to give that to my family. You can spare yourself unwanted calories, carbs, saturated fat and sodium by preparing your own meals with fresh, healthy ingredients, possibly reducing your risk of hypertension, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Here are some of my family’s favorite recipes

Sweet Pepper and Spinach Chicken

Naked Chicken Chalupa

Stuffed Mushrooms

Copycat Chick Fil-A Chicken

Chicken Taco Egg Rolls

Fried Pork Wontons

Orange Chicken

Coconut Shrimp

Eggplant Meatballs

Black Bean Burger

Cauliflower Mac and Cheese

Homemade Pizza Dough

Low Carb Sushi

Keto Empanadas
