Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ green pepper, finely chopped

  • ½ red pepper, finely chopped

  • ½ large onion, finely chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 ½ teaspoon cumin

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • ½ cup bread crumbs ( regular, gluten-free, oat flour, pork rind crumbs, panko or flax seed)

  • ½ cup shredded cheese ( substitute with vegan cheese, feta or ¼ cup of nutritional yeast)

  • 2 large eggs ( or egg replacement)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tablespoons no sugar ketchup

  • Salt and Pepper

Directions

  • Preheat the oven 325
  • Drain the black beans and rinse them at least 2 times. In a small bowl, mash them up with a form potato masher or a fork
  • In a frying pan, add olive oil, peppers (or other veggies), garlic, cumin and italian seasoning. Cook till the veggies are soft. Let it cool
  • In a large bowl combine bread crumbs, cheese, eggs, worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper. Add the mashed you black beans and veggie mixture. Combine the ingredients and mix well
  • Put into the refrigerator for 20 minutes to set
  • Make your patties shape and put them on a pan that is covered with parchment paper or mat
  • Bake for 15- 20 minutes or until it has a nice crust

Notes

  • If you don’t like peppers, you can use corn, carrots or mushrooms (at least ¼ cup of these veggies)
  • Do not fry it because it will fall apart. I know so well on this LOL
  • Topping that will go great is avocado and chipotle mayo with green onions
